After over 100 years in business, Gold plating has become a specialty of Epner Technology. Researchers have found that the properties and characteristics of Gold plating can be manipulated when the thickness of gold is increased to thicknesses unachievable in normal plating set ups. After a certain thickness, the deposit becomes cloudy, brittle and adhesion issues begin.
Epner has engineered a method to solve these plating problems when an usually thick deposit is required. For this reason, we have been commissioned by various companies to do unbelievably thick Gold Plating for flight parts. We are able to successfully plate .005” of Pure Gold on just about any part. This plating can be specified as both a soft, or a hard finish, with either grades A, B, or C.
We find that Heavy Gold is specified on various nuclear seals and on parts used to block Radiation.
Heavy Gold is also deposited on parts for decorative reasons like outdoor exposure to the elements. Depending on the conditions, we can make a lifetime guarantee on our plating.
